Heartburn remedies that are all natural can be a better approach for those who have mild cases of heartburn or only experience symptoms after eating things that trigger it. Heartburn is when there is acid fluid that comes up into your esophagus from the stomach. You will feel a burning sensation, and for some people it can be more painful than for others.

Most cases of heartburn are caused from acid reflux. This can, in some cases, lead to an inflammation of the esophagus. Heartburn can also be caused from mild heart attacks as well as angina, which is discomfort in the chest that can be caused from heart disease.

Heartburn Remedies

There are several treatments for heartburn, but the most common one is to stand up. You should not lie down, as this will only keep the acid fluid coming up. Other common treatments include:

  • Eat a raw carrot
  • Chew gum that is sugar-free
  • Dilute 1 tsp baking soda in water
  • Drink a lot of water
  • Mix 1 tsp honey, 1 tsp apple cider vinegar, and 1 cup warm water
  • Drink juice from a potato
  • Drink peppermint tea

You can also try taking calcium, which you can get with over-the-counter heartburn tablets and medicines. For those who are popping those antacids, this may only get you the relief you need short term. You are going to need something more effective and long-lasting. These can also reduce your body's ability to absorb nutrients as well as increase your blood pressure.

Other effective heartburn remedies include vegetables and fruits. This can be garlic, for example. Apples, white potatoes, and carrots are also very effective. You can eat bananas because these are full of antacids that can help reduce the symptoms. Your heartburn can be kept under control, and now you can use these remedies to help you.
