Heartburn sufferers relax. You do not have to use harsh chemical compounds to alleviate the burning in your chest. There are heartburn home remedies out there, available to all. Man has been dealing with this plague long before the invention modern chemistry. There are several things you can try without having to visit a specialty store. Just stroll down your local produce isle and pick yourself up a fresh Ginger root for example. This is one old wife’ s tale that may have some validity. Eating Ginger is said to reduce the stomach gases that form during digestion thus alleviating the burning effects of the combustion caused by food +Stomach acid. Most people prefer it as a tea; it is also used as a spice. Grind it up and add it to your dish. Most herbalists recommend using 500mg of Ginger (in capsule form, found at your local nutrition center or pharmacy) with a glass of water. Ginger is found in root beer, one of my favorite drinks and also ginger snap cookies. Make a batch with a goodly amount of freshly ground dried ginger for dessert.

Other proponents of holistic healing suggest using naturally occurring enzymes as a way of combating heartburn. We see that the enzymes in yogurt are being rediscovered to be a tried and true method of relieving constipation; naturalists believe that the enzymes in the papaya fruit can be used as natural heartburn home remedies. I like the idea of being able to eat a delicious fruit as a dessert and not having to feel the awful burning in my chest. Neither of these has been proven scientifically, but they work just the same. Papaya enzymes are sold in a chewable capsule form and it is best to take them directly after you have eaten with a full 8oz of water.

I prefer the down home farm method of eating foods high in fiber. A lot of people consider them as filler foods or bulk foods such as Broccoli, Cauliflower, Beans, Cantaloupes, Greens of any variety Apples in the raw state and whole grain breads are just a few of the items you can eat that will act as a sponge for excess acid. I don’ t believe you can beat Mother Nature at supplying us with what we need. There are those of us who just have a bad relationship with vegetables, for you, there are a number of heartburn home remedies, where the fiber has been extracted and made into pill form or powder. Fiber also helps to regulate the digestive system aiding the body to quickly and naturally eliminate toxins. In my search for relief without having to resort to drugs or chemicals, I have come across what works best, for me. Eat more vegetables, our bodies were designed for them, I say the best heartburn home remedies are found in your produce section. Relief could be as simple as changing your diet. So why not eat your way to no more heartburn.

Using Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is known to be as effective as over-the-counter antacids when used in the appropriate manner. If the heartburn has been troubling you for some time, prepare an apple cider-based drink that can be consumed throughout the day. For this, mix one tablespoon of apple-cider vinegar with about six ounces of water. To make this preparation more appeasing, you can add some sugar and black pepper too. This preparation can be sipped at small intervals to cure heartburn. The curative properties of apple cider vinegar are related to its ability to neutralize the stomach’s acids for a short period. Similarly, you can also prepare a drink combining apple cider vinegar, water and a few drops of garlic oil.

Avoiding Certain Foods That Cause Heartburn

Acid reflux can be excruciating. One of the worst things about  heartburn  is that it often occurs at night, stopping you from getting a full night’s sleep. Waking up untested can add more stress to your life in turn increasing the chances of another acid reflux attack.

With no where to go and nothing to digest it travels over the stomach and into the esophagus. Unlike the stomach the esophagus’s inner lining is not meant to handle such powerful acid. This is not only excruciating but can also become very dangerous if it happens often enough.

There are many medications that can help you control and prevent  heartburn . There is no shortage of medications from over the counter medicines like Tums or Prilosec to doctor proscribed medication for extreme cases of  heartburn .   • Meats and Cheese – Meats and cheese that are high in fats are known to cause higher amounts of stomach acids.
